Meet Chas

Beginning therapy is a meaningful step, and I’m glad you’re here. I’m a therapist who believes deeply in the power of compassion, curiosity, and emotional honesty. My goal is to offer a space where you can slow down, understand what you’re carrying, and feel supported as you move toward the life you want.

I’m trained in EMDR and specialize in grief and bereavement, supporting people through the many forms loss can take, whether it’s the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a shift in identity, or a life transition that leaves you feeling unmoored. I approach this work with deep respect for your story and the tenderness of what you may be holding.

My style is warm, collaborative, and action oriented. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, including EMDR, ACT, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy. Depending on your needs, this might look like helping you process painful memories, identify patterns shaped by past experiences, or build practical tools to navigate anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and emotional overwhelm. For professionals and high achievers, we often explore the pressures, expectations, and identity questions that come with navigating demanding careers while trying to maintain a sense of balance and purpose.

I work with adults of all ages, including young professionals, creatives, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, C-suite leaders, and individuals living with chronic illness or disability. Whether we’re working individually or as a couple, I aim to help you strengthen your emotional resilience, deepen your self-worth, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that deserve care and attention.

Therapy with me is intentional, grounded, and tailored to your goals. I believe healing becomes possible when you feel genuinely seen and understood, and I’m here to walk alongside you with steadiness and support. You don’t have to navigate this alone. I look forward to meeting you and exploring what’s possible for you from here.

My Therapy Style

  • Beginning therapy is a very vulnerable feeling for most but also is one of the most courageous acts of self-love one can exhibit. When first meeting a client, I prioritize actively listening to them to gain an adequate understanding of their past experiences, present issues and future goals while building an initial foundation of trust. If someone is on the fence about starting therapy, they should go if any slightest part of them feels compelled. The faster you take action, the faster you’ll find resolution. So much of anxiety is rooted in stagnant anticipation and procrastination.

  • My main motive in joining the field of mental health stems from my purpose of empowering clients by providing them with the appropriate tools to gain an understanding of emotional processes and the ability to heal. I pride myself in expressing empathy, compassion and respect for all individuals in their most vulnerable times. I enjoy improving the quality of life for adults by utilizing evidence-based practices. I believe there is no cookie cutter approach to therapy. I choose to formulate a tailored treatment plan that is most relevant and effective for everyone depending on their unique, presenting problem. The types of therapy I use in my areas of specialty include ACT, CBT, DBT, EMDR, PTSD relief, psychodynamic theory, solution-focused brief therapy, action-oriented therapy, motivational interviewing, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation to name a few. Grief and bereavement counseling is an immense passion of mine as loss comes in various forms.

  • As a therapist, taking care of my own mental and emotional health is essential—not just for me, but for the people I support. Each day, I carve out time to reflect, often through journaling or a few minutes of mindfulness. This helps me process any emotional residue from sessions and stay grounded. Between clients, I might do a short breathing exercise or body scan to reset and stay present. These small moments of mindfulness really help me maintain clarity and composure throughout the day.

I also protect my boundaries fiercely. That means ending sessions on time, maintaining a consistent schedule, and not letting work spill over into my personal life. I’ve learned that saying “no” when I’m at capacity isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. Having clear boundaries is what allows me to show up fully for others.

Physically, I take care of myself by prioritizing sleep, eating well, and making time for movement—whether that’s a walk, a stretch between sessions, or a workout. Staying hydrated and fueling myself properly helps me think clearly and regulate my emotions more easily.

Throughout the day, I check in with myself emotionally, asking, “How am I feeling right now?” If something comes up, I use tools like reframing or self-compassion to manage it. I make space for joy and creativity—things that have nothing to do with work. Whether it’s reading, cooking, painting, or spending time with friends, I need those moments to remind me of who I am outside of the therapy room.

Lastly, I try to limit digital overload. I avoid getting caught in the scroll of social media or the news, especially after hours. When my workday ends, I unplug so I can recharge. My clients deserve the best version of me—and I can only offer that when I’m taking care of myself, consistently and intentionally.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT STARTING THERAPY

  • Just reach out. You can complete our questionnaire to match with a therapist or email us directly, and someone from our team will follow up to learn a bit about what you're looking for. From there, we’ll recommend a therapist or invite you to explore our team bios to see who feels like the right fit. There’s no pressure. We want you to feel at home from the very beginning.

  • Yes. Many clients come in knowing what kind of person they’d like to work with, while others prefer guidance. We’re happy to support either approach. You can review our therapists’ bios and request someone directly, or we can make a thoughtful match based on your needs, preferences, and availability.

  • That’s very common. Our intake process includes space for conversation. We’ll ask a few simple questions, listen carefully, and help you connect with a therapist who feels like the right match for you. This is a collaborative process, not an algorithm.

  • Most sessions are 45–50 minutes long, once a week. Some clients prefer longer or more frequent sessions depending on what they’re working through. We’ll tailor the cadence to your goals and preferences.

  • Weekly sessions are the standard, though many clients choose to meet more frequently during transitional or emotionally demanding times. This is something you and your therapist will decide together, based on what feels supportive and sustainable.

  • At this time, our focus is on individual therapy for adults and emerging adults. If you're seeking couples or family therapy, we’re happy to refer you to trusted colleagues in our extended network.
