Mindfulness-Based Therapy for Navigating Change

“You deserve freedom and to live a life of authenticity, stepping into your truth is one of the greatest acts of self care.”

Meet Stephanie

There are moments in life when something no longer feels aligned — a career path that once made sense, a relationship dynamic that feels uncertain, or a persistent sense of self-doubt that quietly shapes your decisions. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure about your next step, therapy can be a space to slow down, reflect, and move forward with greater clarity.

As a therapist in NYC, I take a collaborative and solution-oriented approach grounded in mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Together, we explore the behaviors that feel difficult to shift, the thoughts behind them, and the deeper belief systems that may be keeping you stuck. I often describe this work as starting from what’s visible in your daily life and gently uncovering what sits beneath it. When we bring awareness to patterns, we create space for meaningful and lasting change.

With over a decade of experience teaching yoga, I integrate a strong mind-body perspective into my work. I believe change happens not only through insight, but through learning how to reconnect with yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally. My goal is to help you build practical tools, strengthen self-trust, and move toward a life that feels intentional and authentically yours.

My Therapy Style

  • I believe the purpose of therapy is to uncover the most authentic version of our lives, and then learn how to deeply fall in love with that. Sometimes it is hard to make sense of the events that have come to pass, or understand why we went or are going through some of the things we are. At the end of the day we will always have ourselves, so feeling so unapologetically grounded, confident and fulfilled with that person, trusting that we can do hard things because we have already gone through hard things, and uncovering our truest potential and strength is the goal. The purpose of therapy is to gather the tools, insights, and compassion to create the life we have always deserved and then to live that life one day at a time with integrity and faith.

  • The idea of therapy can be intimidating. It can feel overwhelming to begin to take a look at ourselves, patterns of behaviors, experiences we have been through, relationships, grief, loss and confront those things head on. However there is great strength in doing so. Therapy is one of the greatest acts of self-care and compassion we can show ourselves. Let’s place the idea that “there is something wrong with you” to the side and step into the idea that you are deserving of living a life free from what is holding you back. Therapy is a way to discover that. Together we will uncover what belief systems no longer serve you and cultivate self-love. I am here to hold space for you, support you, gently and lovingly push you when you need it.

  • There are many different mantras that I use from time to time in my work. One of the most important things I remind clients is that we can’t change something that we are not aware of. So by having the courage to open up about thought patterns, behaviors, beliefs is the first step towards lasting change. Being aware of these things allows us to work together to reframe what is no longer working for us/you and mindfully and compassionately challenge them to a belief system that makes more sense. If you are “trying” you are already “doing” so together with integrity we can decipher how to hold ourselves accountable, when to give ourselves grace and when to push ourselves. Just because we can do something does not always necessarily mean that we should do; so understanding that about ourselves is a wonderful tool towards healthy boundaries.

  • The way I show up for myself each day will always vary. Some days my best is slightly different than the day before so understanding how my needs change is dependent on the connection I so gently nurture between my mind and my body. Taking time to be in nature is what fills me up. Some days it looks like an early morning surf, or a long walk on the beach and other days it looks like 5 minutes of stillness to myself outside before I walk into an appointment. Just allowing myself to pause, breath and then move forward is how I recover each day. And since I cannot control the weather, some days I pivot in how I support myself. I take a yoga class inside, I lay on the ground for a few minutes in silence, I make soup. Doing one thing each day that is kind and loving for myself is the least I can do for this body that carries me through each day.

  • When you walk to the edge of all the light you have and take that first step into the darkness of the unknown, you must believe that one of two things will happen: There will be something solid for you to stand upon, or, you will be taught to fly.

  • When we have the courage to walk into our story and own it, we get to write the ending.

  • Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.

  • You find peace not by rearranging the circumstances of your life, but by realizing who you are at the deepest level.

LET’S BEGIN

If you’re ready for therapy that’s collaborative, creative, and focused on what matters most to you, I’d love to connect. Whether in our Manhattan office or online, you’ll have a supportive space to reflect, recharge, and move forward with clarity.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT STARTING THERAPY

  • Just reach out. You can complete our questionnaire to match with a therapist or email us directly, and someone from our team will follow up to learn a bit about what you're looking for. From there, we’ll recommend a therapist or invite you to explore our team bios to see who feels like the right fit. There’s no pressure. We want you to feel at home from the very beginning.

  • Yes. Many clients come in knowing what kind of person they’d like to work with, while others prefer guidance. We’re happy to support either approach. You can review our therapists’ bios and request someone directly, or we can make a thoughtful match based on your needs, preferences, and availability.

  • That’s very common. Our intake process includes space for conversation. We’ll ask a few simple questions, listen carefully, and help you connect with a therapist who feels like the right match for you. This is a collaborative process, not an algorithm.

  • Most sessions are 45–50 minutes long, once a week. Some clients prefer longer or more frequent sessions depending on what they’re working through. We’ll tailor the cadence to your goals and preferences.

  • Weekly sessions are the standard, though many clients choose to meet more frequently during transitional or emotionally demanding times. This is something you and your therapist will decide together, based on what feels supportive and sustainable.

  • At this time, our focus is on individual therapy for adults and emerging adults. If you're seeking couples or family therapy, we’re happy to refer you to trusted colleagues in our extended network.
